House Bill HB420 proposes to broaden the existing dual and concurrent enrollment program.
The bill seeks to amend RSA 188-E (Career and Technical Education; Dual and Concurrent Enrollment Program) by broadening eligibility. Students would no longer be constrained to select CTE, STEM and STEM-related courses, and students would be able to take up to 5 credits per year in the program instead of the current limit of 2 courses.
The funding appropriated for this program in the existing law is unchanged, which raises the question as to whether the existing program is undersubscribed.
Should SDGA support or oppose? Please discuss.
