SDGA is pleased to announce three new and updated model policies to our growing model policy manual. Of most immediate interest is our “Parental Rights and Responsibilities Policy” now updated to incorporate the Parental Bill of Rights which became law July 1 this year. Our policy encompasses the new legislation and takes it further by reinforcing the parents’ role as primary decision maker and moral authority in the lives of their children. You will also find a model policy on Superintendent’s contracts, and a policy on hiring professional staff. All our policies are intended to be used by NH school boards who wish to have a common sense approach to pressing governance topics. We urge you to promote these to your school board.
