(Sept. 22, 2025) –  The SDGA (School District Governance Association of NH) has posted on our website the statewide student achievement results from spring 2025. The data was gathered from the results publicly posted on the NH Department of Education site, but which have not yet been included in their interactive reporting system (iAchieve/iReport/iExplore), and to date there is no announcement by the DOE. There has also been no press coverage.

Unlike the DOE interactive reporting system, which shows only eight (8) years of data, the SDGA has consolidated 16 years of available results into a single spreadsheet organized by school district, subject, school, grade level, and assessment year. The data is organized into cohorts based on expected graduation year, so it is possible to follow results of a district’s test-takers through their successive evaluations at grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11.

Some of the top takeaways from these results at a statewide level, aggregated across all grades:

  • For English Language Arts (coded in the worksheets as “rea”), achievement this year was 55% proficient, up from 53% proficient last year. This is a modest gain from 52% proficient in the first year following COVID, and has almost regained the last pre-COVID result of 56% proficient. However, the results pre-COVID had previously been in decline since 2014, when the achievement level was 76% proficient.
  • For Math, achievement this year was 42% proficient, largely unchanged since COVID. The pre-COVID results had been static at 48% proficient since a major drop in the achievement level from 64% in 2014. It is also interesting to consider the results for grade 11 students statewide. During the post-COVID years, the grade 11 achievement has fallen year-by-year from 42% proficient to 31% proficient.
