(May 31, 2025) – The School District Governance Association of New Hampshire (SGDA-NH) proudly announces that Frank Edelblut has been selected for the 2025 Dan Richards’ SDGA Education Champion of the Year Award. Frank has been serving as the NH Commissioner of Education since 2017, and will complete his exemplary 8-year tenure later this year. His laser focus on NH students and his true belief and understanding that each child learns differently has guided his numerous efforts to improve education across the state. His advocacy for school choice for all, including the Education Freedom Account (EFA) program, support for new charter schools, innovations for all public schools, and the Learn Everywhere Program has greatly benefited countless students and their families.
Frank has partnered with many organizations aimed at bringing important resources and tools to both educators and students, including Lexia LETRS, which trains teachers in the Science of Reading, Tutor.com, which is a 24-7 online tutoring platform, and Khanmigo, which serves as an AI assistant for teachers and a tutor for students. Through his visionary approaches, Frank has worked tirelessly to improve student achievement so that they are prepared for secondary education, military service, or the workforce.
Lastly, Frank has greatly improved school district governance and transparency via their iPlatform, which includes iGrant, iReport, iExplore, iGlossary, iDefine, and iPlatform public reports. All of these web-based dashboards and tools provide stakeholders with easy access to data and graphs on student achievement including proficiency and growth, demographic data (students, teachers, administrators), financial data including use of grants, and much more. Frank has been a speaker, friend, and advocate of SDGA-NH in helping us in our mission to improve school governance, fiscal prudence, and educational excellence in NH. For these reasons, SDGA-NH is proud to have selected Frank Edelblut for the 2025 Dan Richards’ SDGA Education Champion of the Year.
SDGA-NH (https://sdganh.org) is a statewide organization of school board and budget committee members (current and former) and others aligned with our focus on responsible governance, fiscal prudence, and academic excellence in our NH public schools and for NH students.
